TRACK OF THE DAY! RUNNIN' BY PIGEON HOLE

Updated: Nov 18, 2021

Starting the week off with our track of the day is “Runnin” by Pigeon Hole.

You can run but you can’t hide from “Runnin” by the Vancouver B.C duo Pigeon Hole. The duo continues to drop tracks full of unique sounds, effects and adlibs. Your attention will not be lost when you listen to “Runnin.” Matter of fact, if you’re into tracks that stick to a format, this ain’t it. From the start, you are taken on a race of sounds backed by beats that will keep your head rocking. We loved the use of synth chords used throughout as it gave the song breath and character. This track is full of layers, you will not be able to listen to this once. PLAY, JAM, REPEAT.

About Pigeon Hole: Pigeon Hole hail from Victoria, B.C. and are driven to create a niche for themselves in the West Coast bass music scene. Colin McCue and Lee Napthine met as kids on Vancouver Island over a mutual love for hip-hop and gangsta rap. Cut to 2011 when the pair started touring the festival circuit and discovered an equal passion for electronic music. Both guys produce, DJ and MC, which enables their continuous innovation. Those tools allow Pigeon Hole to fuse the past and present and lead the way into the future of bass music.

In the first months of 2018, Pigeon Hole issued their EP Invasion (Sleeveless Records). The album showcases the group's tendency for delivering heavy tracks driven by saturated bass lines and halftime rhythms. Such songs impressed Minnesota to the point that he made Pigeon Hole the first signed artist to his newly founded record label Outer Realms. All of these releases and opportunities have set a strong foundation for the duo’s exponential growth; not only have they found a place in West Coast bass music, they’ve found a way to usher it into a new era.
