‘Trust Issues’ is one the latest releases from Monstercat by the amazingly talented Sabai, Adam Pearce and Zack Gray. It opens with a beautiful, soft intro which continues to build up to some amazing drops throughout. Paired with this very personal, heartfelt message in the lyrics which I feel many could really resonate with. If this track is anything to go by, these three are a force to be reckoned with in the music scene. Everyone brings their own style and their own layers which creates such an experience for the listener. Sabai’s sound can be described as blends of House and Future Bass with interesting touches of R&B or even Pop. Pearce described his sound as “melodic bass,” with a blend of progressive house. He says ‘This is the sound of sun kissed crowds moving together. This is music to get lost in.’ Whereas Gray had a very different view of his music; ‘Pieces of love, loss, faith & joy. Hopeless romanticisms & sad kid anthems.’ This is showcased beautifully in this track. You definitely need to check it out and learn more about all artists featured below!
Rising star Sabai has seen his profile skyrocket since his debut EP released on iconic Canadian imprint Monstercat. With over 40 million views on YouTube and 18 million streams on Spotify, the Thai-born, Vancouver-based producer and DJ infuses his productions with raw emotion, born through beautifully composed melodies and exquisitely layered vocal lines. Tracks ‘Million Days’, ‘Save You’, ‘Broken Glass’ and ‘Memories’ immediately connected fans to the raw, authentic and open messages behind each single. Reflected in his name (‘Sabai’ means comfortable in Thai), he wants fans to be at ease with who they are, and to realise through his music that they are connected to a vast network of other human beings who they can identify with, and find support. This relationship with listeners was showcased during memorable live performances in 2021 at FVDED in the Park and Compound Festival. On the single front, Sabai has most recently enjoyed a release on the Rocket League soundtrack with ‘Scared’, and a collaboration with Nevve called ‘Falling For You’. With more music set for release across 2021 and beyond, fans can expect to see and hear much more of this talented young artist.
Every musician remembers when it all began for them. It’s like a revelation, they say, that first time you hear something. Artistic inspiration, like a crazy spark that burns and burns. It’s also the sound that lives in Vancouver born producer Adam Pearce’s music. Adam began producing seriously back in 2011 after discovering artists like Porter Robinson, Skrillex, and Deadmau5. So he got to work, Learning how to tell a story with music. Pearce then earned his live debut by winning a local DJ contest. Doors started to open, and his dedication didn’t go unnoticed. He was offered the opening spot for bass heavyweights Zeds Dead at Vancouver’s iconic Vogue Theatre. Labels such as Dim Mak, Lowly Palace and DeadBeats release his music. Other DJs play it, Hardwell, Steve Aoki, Alison Wonderland, Arty. Along the way, Pearce opened for The Chainsmokers, What So Not, Feed Me, Ghastly, k?d, and many others. His music resonates, but Pearce isn’t content unless he’s challenging himself. “I just want to make the music I'd want to hear,” he says. If a crowd wants to feel something real, then inspiration will never be too far away
